Photographer Adam Moco has been spending some extra time on Grindr, and he has more to show for it than dinner receipts and late night texts.

Tryst Pic is a new photo series that explores the potential of an online hookup app as a source of inspiration.

Utilizing popular location-based "hookup" apps geared towards gay men, this project aims to repurpose the meaning of a random "hookup," linking photographer and subject in a non sexual context through the art of portraiture.

The "hookups" range from a few minutes to a few hours. Connections are made between strangers around the world, and in some cases, new friendships form.

Artist Allison Schulnik has created a new animation called "Eager," which takes us on psychedelic claymation journey through a dystopian Garden of Eden where faceless acolytes conduct fertility rituals, ride on hung horseback and absorb one another as the landscape explodes and implodes.

Canada's Owen Pallett and Arcade Fire member Will Butler have won themselves an Academy Award nomination for 'Best Original Score' for their work on the film Her. GET IT, HUNTIES!

Pallett (who you may know formerly as Final Fantasy) is a regular collaborator with The Arcade Fire. The pair worked with director Spike Jonze to create the score for the Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Scarlett Johansson-starring film about a lonely writer who develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need. (It happens to the best of us!)

We've got our fingers crossed for the boys, and wish them the best of luck! Other nominees in the category include The Book Thief, Gravity, Philomena, and Saving Mr. Banks. People who weren't nominated for an Oscar this year include OPRAH.

So last March, when you were sitting at home watching TV on a Friday night alone, some hot nun from Rieti, Italy was out getting freaky, hitting the dancefloor to Madonna's Just Like A Prayer, and doing belly shots off the bartender's stomach. How does one know this? Well -- she sealed the deal that night, because according to BBC News:

A nun who gave birth to a baby boy in the central Italian city of Rieti, said she had no idea she was pregnant, local media report.

The 31-year-old nun was rushed to hospital with abdominal pains, which she thought were stomach cramps.

"I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain," she was quoted as saying by the Ansa news agency.

Fellow nuns at the convent said they were "surprised" by the news.

Local pastor Don Fabrizio Borrello told journalists that the nun planned to take care of the baby.

"I guess she's telling the truth when she says she arrived at the hospital unaware of the pregnancy."

Ya -- I guess! Looks like we had not only a pregnant nun on our hands, but now we have a LYING nun on our hands! The nun named her baby Francis, after Pope Francis. I'm not sure if she's trying to be subtle and let us in a little secret about who the baby-daddy might be, or if she's just being cheeky. Someone needs to call Maury STAT.

You may have heard of Maxim "The Cleaver" Martsinkevich, a Russian fascist who filmed himself torturing gays on webcam (including this former Ukrainian X-factor contestant), then uploaded the videos to the internet. Well, dude fled to Cuba and it looks like they're not taking any of his shit, because according to The Bilerico Project:

Russia was informed by Cuban police of the arrest of Maxim Martsinkevich through Interpol, the Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
More widely known under his nickname of Tesak, or machete, Martsinkevich was arrested in absentia by a Russian court last month on extremism charges. Martsinkevich said during a January 8 interview that the criminal charges against him were orchestrated by Russia's "pedo-lobby," and that he did not intend to return to Russia, according to Russian tabloid Life News that has close links to the security services.
The details of Martsinkevich's extradition were currently being finalized, Russia's Investigative Committee said in a statement Saturday.
In a January 9 post on his website, Martsinkevich wrote that he had flown to Cuba from the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, via the German city of Frankfurt. In 2011, Martsinkevich founded the Occupy Pedophile vigilante group, which lured men to abusive meetings with false promises of sex with minors. The encounters were recorded and then posted online.
The group was also reported to target gay men, who were subjected to similar abusive treatment.

Quick tip: If you flee somewhere -- don't do a video post about the whereabouts of where you're headed! I know, I KNOW! -- it seems like an obvious thing to avoid -- but you'd be surprised how stupid some people are! Also, it looks as if Russia has charged Maxim for his neo-Nazi/skinhead extremism, but not for his documented acts of violence against LGBT people, so...

George Michael is set to release a new live album, Symphonica, this coming March 17. The album will feature a 14-song set that includes orchestral rearrangements of his own hits, as well as select covers that were recorded while on tour during his 2011-2012 shows. According to Idolator:

The album is co-produced by 14-time Grammy-winner Phil Ramone (Billy Joel, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna), who died at age 72 last year.
